German Egg Liqueur - called Eierlikör - is a classic holiday drink (but enjoyed year round) and actually quite easy to make from scratch. Here's how!
Egg Yolks Powdered Sugar Vanilla Extract Rum Whipping Cream
Start by separating the eggs. Then add the egg yolks to a medium-sized, heat resistant bowl.
Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Mix with an electric mixer or whisk until creamy.
Add the whipping cream and then the rum while you continue to whisk vigorously.
Once you have a frothy mixture, put the bowl in a hot water bath on the stovetop and keep whisking until it is thick and creamy.
Once the egg liqueur has reached a temperature of 160 F, pour it into glasses and enjoy or transfer it to sanitized bottles for later!
