German meat salad, called Fleischsalat in German, is a classic dish that is widely available across the country... and also easy to make at home!

To make it, you'll need German bologna, mortadella or North American bologna. Cut the meat into slices, then into thin strips.

Also, cut the baby dill pickles into small pieces...

...and peel and finely chop a small onion.

Place the cut up meat, pickles, and onion into a mixing bowl.

Now add the pickle juice, mayo, sugar, salt, and pepper to the bowl as well.

Mix everything well. Then cover the bowl and place it in the fridge for at least one hour to chill and allow the flavors to mingle.

Enjoy the German meat salad on a fresh bun, bread, or with boiled potatoes for a simple but filling dinner. Enjoy!
