If you're a fan of sauerkraut, you'll love this easy sauerkraut salad. With only a few ingredients you can made a flavorful dish in no time!
Sauerkraut Onion Carrot Apple Oil Caraway Seeds Granulated Sugar Salt and Pepper
Start by draining the sauerkraut and placing it in a bowl. If the pieces are quite large, cut them a b it smaller.
Next, chop the onion into very fine pieces. If you dislike onion, you can also not add any.
Then peel and grate the carrot. The carrot gives the salad more flavor and a nice pop of color.
Then peel and finely chop the apple before adding the ingredients to a bowl. Also add oil, caraway seeds, sugar, salt, and black pepper.
Mix really well, then cover the bowl and place it in the fridge for an hour so that the flavors can mingle.
Remove the bowl from the fridge and add more salt and papper to taste. It tastes great with fresh rye bread and butter or as a side salad!
