If you like the taste but not the hassle of cabbage rolls, try making cabbage roll casserole. It's very easy to make and a delicious filling dish, perfect for the colder months.

What You'll Need

White Cabbage Onions & Garlic Oil, Eggs & Bacon Ground Beef & Pork Salt & Pepper Long Grain Rice Diced Tomatoes Tomato Juice

First, chop the cabbage into small pieces. Also peel and chop the onions and garlic cloves.

Next, sauté the chopped onions in a pan with some oil for about 5 minutes, or until soft.

Now combine the ground beef and pork, eggs, onion, salt, pepper, and chopped garlic in a large bowl. Mix well, then add the rice and mix again.

Spread half of the cabbage in the baking dish, then add half of the diced tomatoes and the meat mixture. Top with the rest of the cabbage and diced tomatoes.

Finally, pour the tomato juice evenly over the top, letting it run down to the other layers.

Cover the baking dish with a lid or aluminum foil and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes. Then add the bacon (optional)

Cook for another 45 minutes or until the cabbage is soft and the meat and rice are cooked. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes, then serve and enjoy!
