Cabbage Rolls

How To Make

Recipes from Europe

Cabbage rolls play an important role in the cuisine of many European countries - and there are many variations. Here's one way to make delicious cabbage rolls at home!

What You'll Need

Ground Meat Cooked Rice & Egg Salt & Coriander Garlic & Paprika Onion & Carrot Cabbage Leaves Tomato Sauce Sour Cream

Add the ground meat, rice, egg, salt, coriander, paprika, and garlic powder to a bowl. Mix well.

When everything is well mixed, cover the bowl and place it in the fridge while you continue with the next steps.

Chop the onion and grate the carrot. Then sauté them in a pan with a little oil for about 5 minutes.

Blanch the cabbage leaves one by one in a bowl of hot water for a few minutes until they are soft. This makes it easier to roll them.

Add 2-3 tablespoon of the meat filling onto the edge of a cabbage leaf. Fold in the edges and roll it up tightly. Repeat with the rest of the cabbage.

Place half of the carrot and onion mixture at the bottom of a pot. Then add the cabbage rolls and top with the rest of the carrot-onion mixture.

Mix the tomato sauce and sour cream in a bowl. Then pour it over the cabbage rolls. Cook, covered, over low heat for about 40 minutes.

When the meat is cooked through, remove the cabbage rolls from the pot. Serve them warm with sour cream on the side (optional). Enjoy!
