If you're looking for a slightly different take on a burger, try this Serbian burger recipe. Known as pljeskavice, they are easy to make and full of flavor!

What You'll Need

Ground Beef Ground Pork Garlic Clove Paprika Salt & Pepper Sparkling Water Oil for frying

Add the ground beef, ground pork, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, paprika, salt, black pepper, and sparkling water to a bowl.

Mix everything together with your clean hands. Then divide the mixture into 4 equal parts.

Shape the mixture into thin patties. Pljeskavica patties are thinner than regular burgers and should be about 6 inches in diameter.

Heat oil in a skillet and fry the patties for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. The internal temperature should be 160°F.

Serve the cooked burgers with fresh Lepinja bread (or pita bread), sliced red or yellow onion, ajvar and fresh tomatoes. Enjoy!
